A petsitter is a professional person who provides quality care for your pets and animals, usually when you are away.

Petsitters providing in-home care watch over your animals on your premises, either making visits or possibly staying overnight. Some petsitters offer boarding facilities.

Animals can include, but are not limited to:
domestic animals:
cats, dogs, ferrets, rabbits etc.
birds:
african greys, cockatiels, macaws, parakeets etc.
exotics/reptiles:
bearded dragons, frogs, geckos, snakes, turtles etc.
livestock/farm animals:
cattle, chickens, donkeys, goats, horses, llamas etc.

Typically, petsitters make certain the animal's diet is followed; clean litterboxes and kennels; and provide an exercise routine as well as shower love and personal attention on those in their care.

Daily dog walks are popular. Other services can include: water plants; retrieve mail, newspapers, packages; put out rubbish or recyclable containers on pick-up day; fill wild bird feeders; perform security checks on clients' homes.

Petsitting organizations exist that are geared toward professional petsitters of which many petsitters are members. Petsitters can carry liability insurance policies specifically written and designed for people in our unique profession. Some are "bonded" or have a "personal property of others" endorsement written into their insurance policy.
